How to style an oversized tee without drowning in it
Oversized does not mean shapeless. Three proportion rules that make a boxy tee look deliberate.
An oversized tee only looks oversized when everything else on you is oversized too. The trick is contrast: if the top is wide, keep the bottom straight or slim. If you want wide-leg trousers, tuck or half-tuck the tee so the volume starts lower.
Rule one is the hem. Your tee should end somewhere between the top of your hip pocket and the middle of your fly. Any longer and the shirt starts wearing you.
Rule two is the shoulder. A drop shoulder should land roughly one to two inches past your own shoulder point — enough to read as intentional, not borrowed.
Rule three is the shoe. Bulk on top wants a little bulk below. Chunky sneakers, loafers with a visible sole, or boots all keep the silhouette balanced. Thin canvas shoes make the same outfit look accidental.
Once these three are in place, the print can be as loud as you like. That is the whole point.
